CBIBC Introduction

Welcome to Clearwater Bay International Baptist Church (CBIBC). We are an English-speaking international Baptist church with a strong emphasis on evangelism and missions, while we have our Sunday service in both English and Putonghua.

The congregation consists of about 130 adults and children from various places, including Australia, Canada, mainland China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, UK, USA, etc.

Located next to the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in the scenic Clearwater Bay area, we have been ministering to the HKUST faculty, students, staffs, and people in and out of the Clearwater Bay area. On every Sunday, there are worship services in two languages: English and Putonghua. The English worship starts at 11 a.m., preceded by Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. The Putonghua worship starts at 9:30 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 11 a.m. Quality Sunday School is provided to children aged 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, and youth. During the week, there are various activities including a Putonghua student group, an English Corner to reach out to HKUST students, two Lady's Bible study groups (one in English, one Putonghua), one Men's Breakfast group, and two Bible study groups for families. Once a month, a Teens gathering with a guest speaker is held. On the 4th Sunday in each month, there is a church wide prayer meeting followed by a combined worship service in both English and Putonghua.

CBIBC was started as a mission chapel in 1993 by Richard Lusk, the retired senior pastor of the Kowloon International Baptist Church (KIBC). It became an independent church in 1999 but still holds regular baptism ceremonies in KIBC.
